For the young kids just getting into listening to music, where would you lead them for more information on audio? Many of them do want to learn, but highly technical articles will lose them.

Well, this is a good place to start. Very interesting reading that goes back years, and you don't have to be a college grad to grasp it all.

audioforbeginners is a good start. They have free guides, tutorials, etc.... that you can read to get a rudimentary grasp. It's one of those sites that are a good substitute if your school doesn't have a music program.
