Do you find that you pick music that compliments whatever the weather is like outside? Like if it's sunny, you choose light, upbeat music? And if it's rainy/stormy you choose slower, more introspective music?

I have, but it's not a rule. For instance I seem to play my copy of the Rolling Stones album Goat Head Soup in the winter time. Music tends to lend itself to that time of the year. I've read though it was recorded in the Bahamas.

Yeah, there seems to be a lot of unnatural things about that album. One of the best they made though. Winter is just soooooo good.

Simon and Garfunkel ballads are good on rainy days.

I tend to play what reflects my mood, and my mood is only sometimes affected by the weather.

If I'm doing absolutely nothing at the time, I will consciously pick something out, but those days are rare.

I dont give it much thought these days. Come rain or shine, I'm more instinctual than anything.

Hi, Recently I have been kind of partial to Jimmy Buffett "Songs You Know By Heart" on CD (AKA Greatest Hits). Cheeseburger in Paradise, Boat Drinks and Volcano are uplifting. He Went to Paris, A Pirate Looks at 40 and Changes in Latitudes are more peaceful. Good stuff for any mood.

Good Listening

Jimmy is cool, that's for sure.

But no. The weather where I live doesn't fluctuate that much, so it doesn't play a part in this.

It is actually, now that I think about it. He's good on a lazy day, regardless of the weather.

But no, I don't pick and choose like that.

I don't because I'm too lazy to find new music and my playlist happened to be on repeat. There are times though when I'd specifically look for workout music for that pump of motivation.

Nope, never. I pick my music by my mood. If I am tired, I pick upbeat music. If I am angry, I listen to Eminem. Weather makes no difference to me. Then again, if it's gloomy out, I'm miserable.
