One of my goals for 2021 is to read more, so I'd like to read a few memoirs from musicians. Does anyone have a favorite memoir that I should check out? I'm not picky about artist or genre. Smile

I didn't expect much from Eminem's memoir, but The Way I Am is truly an excellent read and worth delving into if you're into rap. Another good one is B.B. King's autobiography, Blues All Around Me.

Thank you so much for the suggestions! I'll look into both of them. I'm not a huge fan Eminem's music. But, who knows? Maybe his memoir will convince me to give his music another chance! Smile

In October, Dave Grohl is publishing a memoir called The Storyteller. I'm really excited for this one and I'm planning to preorder it. Maybe add this one to your list and read it when it comes out?

Keith Richards' "Life" is good. I read it years ago, and even back then the public library had it. Nothing like reading a great book for free.

This one sounds really good! I'm a fan of The Rolling Stones, so this one would be a good pick for me! (As a side note, I love the library. I wouldn't read nearly as much as I do without the library).

Never read one, and I just realized how deep their life would be, especially if they're the writer of their music too. I only know a lot of musicians also have to lead tough lives because starting is never easy. I look forward to reading one now.

Back in the 80's I read something that I think was an unofficial biography of Richards. A guy named Ton Sanchez wrote it, I believe. It was a good read, but maybe not the most accurate.

I haven't read one yet, but it's something to look forward to learning from because the music industry is challenging. Becoming a musician is a risk that not everyone pushes to continue. I can't imagine the hardships that they've experienced.

Whitney Houston got one, right? I'm interested in reading her story because it seems to be a heavy one. The music industry must've made it harder for other races to thrive, especially in the earlier years.
