Rusty, I didn't realize Keith David did voice acting! The Thing is one my favorite horror movies and I loved his performance in the film. I'm going to look into his voice acting performances! Very Happy

Yes Kaleb. The remake of the Thing with Keith David and Kurt Russell is mine as well. It really captured the paranoia and despair of battling this entity that lurked within, anyone. I liked the old 50's original too, with big Jim Arness as the Thing. I don't know why they remade it again this century basically just retelling the old story. They could of taken it beyond what was the original premise and setting and put it in a populated area to really create mass effect.

So, what qualities make a good vocal performance, especially in a radio drama?
From what I've observed, intention and emotion are necessary for the voice acting industry. There would be a tendency for vocal performance to improve since people will generally sound different depending on their feelings.

There are tons of latest equipment that plays a valuable role in the voice acting industry now. Being well-oriented on technology is, I think, would be another vital skill. Good acting skills are a given, but not knowing how to record your voice with the right tools won't do you well.
