I commented on another topic here on the humming sound created by a speaker when it will be switched on. It made me think of the smartphones, mostly the older models, create a feedback on speakers. What caused this specific feedback?

Yep, I lived through this. I think it happened when the cell phone would be talking to the tower and nearby speakers were picking up on the transmissions. Moving further away was about the only thing that helped from what I recall.
