So the slowest moving project ever might actually get off the ground. I have some questions regarding the construction of the 2Pi towers.

The plans show the speakers foot print as 16" wide, and 13" deep. Would it effect the sound quality if I rotate the 13" to the front, and mount the drivers into the 13" side?

Does it effect the sound quality if I flush mount the drivers? I only consider doing this for visual appeal.

Should I use a quality sanded plywood or MDF?

Thanks for the advise.

Both of those mods are fine. I usually flush-mount drivers, but not always. The crossover is good either way, because the fore-aft offsets are acoustically small.

As for MDF or plywood, either is fine as long as the plywood is Baltic Birch. You definitely don't want any voids or the debris in the voids will buzz. Baltic Birch is void-free.

Wayne, what ohm load do these create? I just picked up a vintage Scott amp and I wondered what tap to use.

Use the 8Ω tap.
