What kind of acoustic treatments do you use for your home theater? I've seen people recommending diffusers, absorbers, and bass traps among other things. Are these typically necessary? What would make them so?

Hey, I think I just came across another thread that has the same title. Was this a mistake? If so, then all your answers are probably on the other thread.

I searched the forum for another thread with this title and this was the only one. There are various threads about this sort of thing, I just hadn't found one that was about home theaters when you don't have the option of constructing the room. Maybe I've just missed it.
