Have you ever read a book before then realized that there was a movie with the same title and borrowing from the events in the book? Was anything lost in the plot? In such instances, I believe it is better to read the book and leave it at just that.

Hi, it works the other way around too. I just read Pacific Rim that is based on the movie. I saw the movie after I read the book. The book was better.

I have previously heard that the series 'Game of Thrones' is based on a book sequel. I would love to read the book having watched several seasons of this.

It works both ways actually.
