I am sure this has been asked before but my search did not come up with anything.

When combining 2: 3Pi subs with a pair of 4Pi, would it be a good idea to stack each of the 4pi on top of each of the 3Pi subs?

For me, this would save some floor space as well as having the subs act as speaker stands for the 4Pi.

This would have a similar configuration as my buddies Totem Shanam speakers...

Do a search here for flanking subs. That's how you want to set them up. Each sub should flank it's main, being slightly behind, below and behind. That will provide smoothing of the anomalies caused by reflections from nearest boundaries.
