Have you heard about the controversy surrounding Lil Wayne after a video showed him trampling the American flag? Some say it was an accident, and it did appear that way initially, but then he kept walking all over it.

Yes, I thought so too. I mean, he has the right to do it (if you can burn or wear the flag, surely you can step on it) but I don't like that he did.

I wouldn't think that it would add to his popularity at all, and if that is the case then what was the point? Unless of course he was just looking for that 5 minutes of news coverage.

Well you know what they say. Any publicity is good publicity, right?

You couldn't pay me enough to be a celebrity. It seems like such a pain.

He trampled on the flag while singing "God bless America", and the words of the song are also quite controversial. Of course he got onto Twitter as soon as the news leaked out, denying fervently that he was not "trampling", but who would believe him after seeing the footage?

I have never got into lil wayne. He's always acted like a thug who thinks he's the greatest person alive for writing songs about his money or how many times he gets laid. God bless amerika was a good song though, I can admit he has a bit of decent meaning to his songs. The whole flag trampling thing was probably just for media attention.
