I am tight on space in the bedroom and was thinking I would get a sound bar to run the TV through for improved sound. My dad used to say that these aren't good speakers, though. Is that still the case?

Personally, I like component speaker systems better, but a sound bar can be a good option for cramped spaces. I think it's pretty much like any other speakers; you have high quality brands and low quality brands.
