Hi guys I'm recently a new member of the forum but I'm not a stranger to it. I recently got my hands on a pair of 2227h's and 2226h's and I've been wanting to build a pair of 4pi speakers for quite a while now. I was wondering if somebody could tell me the pros and cons of using either driver/ their experience with them. I was also wondering where I would get specific crossover plans for both woofers using the de250 CDs . Thanks!

I prefer the JBL 2226, and in fact, do not even offer the 2227 version anymore. It is a good driver, but I find the 2226 is better suited for this kind of design. I'll send plans.

Thank you very much Wayne!
Any technical insight on why you prefer the 2226 in your design? from what I've been reading up on the 2227 seems a little harder to balance in a design because of it's rising response. I'm too not sure, but it seems that the 2227h would not be 4db more efficient that the 2226h in it's bandpass. The 2227h is measured to have less power compression but is power compression a big concern when designing such a high efficiency speaker for home use?

That's exactly why I don't care as much for the 2227 in this design. It just doesn't sound balanced.
