My daughters Sweet 16 birthday is coming up. I don't want to hire a DJ but we want music. I am thinking mixed CDs or just plugging in an iPod. Thoughts?

Sure why not! With all this technology why not just be your own DJ. You can burn CD's or plug an iPod into one of those big speakers. You can also just take a laptop to the party and play music.

That is what I was thinking too. I did not think about the laptop though. We do have a great WiFi system so we could take the laptop out. There has to be stations that don't talk at all online.

I don't know anyone who hires a DJ anymore unless it's a wedding. Everyone just makes their own mixes on the computer or uses Pandora.

Really? We just went to a Sweet 16 party and they had a DJ. What is Pandora? I've never used it or heard of it. I'm interested though. I am not going to hire a DJ.
