What are some of the weirdest acoustic treatments you've seen or heard about? Egg crates come to mind for me, but I'd imagine there are other unusual solutions people have tried.

After I got married and we had our own place to rent, I filled the garage with mattresses and blankets around the perimeter to keep the band from waking up our baby or bothering the neighbors.

I've heard of people using blankets before, but adding mattresses is a nice creative touch. I imagine mattresses are less common because most people don't have as many extra ones lying around.
