Presuming you buy mid range cost speakers new, how long could you expect them to last? I'm trying to decide if it's worth replacing mine now or waiting to buy a whole new sound system.

If you don't physically damage them like getting them wet tearing the cones and you don't over drive them and blow them, a good loudspeaker driver can last a lifetime.
