I just watched Dune on TV last night; I forgot how stylized it is. That's about all it has going for it unfortunately, as it really doesn't do justice to the book.

I have never heard of Dune. What is it about? Is it a TV show or a movie? I would love to hear more so I can decide if I want to give it a shot or not.
Dune is a science fiction story about a deposed Duke in exile who attempts to gain control of an interplanetary empire through resource dominance. It's a book and a movie, and really the book is a better bet; it's a great story.

The 2000 miniseries was FAR better when comparing it to the book than the original movie, still didn't do it justice, but it was still fun to watch. But if you want the baron's people to drink blood it's not in that one.
