...I'm thinking about re-doing the new speakers crossover and could use some input. That and House is over and I'm bored.

The only thing we know about the woofers is that they're 12" and have the Altec ( b-b-but they're Utah!) propensity toward what Spkrman calls "bungee cord" bass. Cabinets are sealed so both those issues are more or less not a factor.

The tweeter specs:

Impedance 4 ohm
V.C. inductance 0.05 mH
Free air resonance Fs 600 Hz
Sensitivity 2.83V/1M 93 dB
Qms 2.2
Qes 0.9
Qts 0.65

Currently I just have a .6H coil on the woof and a 20uF cap on the tweet, taking advantage of it's very low FS vs. the unknown specs but perty good sound of the woofer. I wonder if a Butterworth or perhaps even an L-W, crossed higher is worth the trubble.

Is there any info here that would allow a judgement short of building the new x-over?

I dunno, Bill. I mean, you started about the same place I think I would have started. I would expect that to be at least in the ballpark. But I'm not sure where you would go without more info.

Bill, time to invest in a woofer tester! And when you're done with it, you can let me borrow it, I've got a couple that need to be tested, too!

That's cracks me up, but now that I think about it, it's kinda true. I think that's pretty the case for all of us in this crowd.
