Okay so I am a fan of front ports, just prefer the look on tall towers.

Is there any issue with placing the 2Pi tower ports on the front baffle (same x/y locations as rear port spec)? My intent is to use acoustically transparent material on the inside of the baffle (black grille cloth or thin open cell foam) to prevent seeing just speaker guts (in this case the front baffle R11/R13 insulation).

I don't think there would be an issue, as long as it was placed in the same place vertically. But I haven't verified that. This speaker is sensitive to port/driver placement, so one should always be mindful of that when deviating from the plans.

Got it. I'll stick with the standard rear port location.
