The Senate approved a bill that would force commercials to be broadcast at the same volume as TV shows. I hope this passes; I get so tired of turning the volume up and down. What do you think?

I'm generally not in favor of adding new laws - we already have about a million too many. But I do agree with you that it is terribly annoying to have the volume jump when the commercials start. Sometimes just about runs you out of the room!

I think it's a fantastic idea! If the ads go on for too long chances are I've switched channel or turned the TV off. It is extremely irritating. Maybe they can throw out some old laws to make room?

Haha! Yes, that would take care of the "too many laws" issue. I get so annoyed with the volume changes because it's irritating and because they startle the baby if I don't turn the volume down.

That would get my vote! I'm not sure how long this has been occuring, but I have noticed a greater increase (almost to the point of shouting) within the last year, maybe two. It makes me think that the commercial makers have maybe even upped the sound from what it was before.
