Anything but politics?
Surely we all have other things that are non-audio that we can talk about?
How about: your first rock concert?
Or
What other hobbies you have,
etc etc

Blue Oyster Cult headliner, Kansas, opener right here in little ole SEKansas. Before Kansas first album, after BOC's second. Truly phenomenal show. About a month later the ceiling in the municipal auditorium fell in. Took a 1/2 cent sales tax to repair it. Everyone who comes here raves about our auditorium in the middle of nowhere.

Ok, I'll start. [message #57994 is a reply to message #57992] Wed, 22 February 2006 20:33 Go to previous messageGo to next message

Let's see, I'd of been about 5 years old when that concert happened! LOL!! 1974 or so??? I think my first real concert was Rush in Kansas City. I was a fan before, but seeing Geddy play the keyboard, bass, and sing at the same time from 15ft away just blew me away. Seen them 4 more times since then.

My second concert was Rush as the opener, Ted Nugent headlining in about a 3000 seat auditorium in Joplin MO. I think Caress of Steel was out by then. They absolutely smoked the house. I've been a huge fan since Fly by Night. But I've never seen them live since. I don't know why R30 dvd made me want to jump up and be 20 again.

Ted was so loud it was painful. I learned early to wear earplugs to concerts. But the man can really shred the guitar.

Don't remind me how old I am.

OK; I got one; "The Young Rascals". Boardy Barn in Hampton Bays 1967. It was a very good year.
I loved the playing of Dino Danelli and I got to talk to him for about 3 seconds.
Good LOvin'

I've only been to one concert my whole life in the USA:
that was a free performance by Al Stewart in Tucson, AZ circa 1995.
Awesome! I made him autograpgh all my albums, and he said, "you really like my stuff donl;t you?"
really cool!
