Is there any advantage to a venturi port ?

I would not want anything that increases airspeed in order to have a pressure change across the bump. Radiused ends are good if airspeed is a little on the high side. If the airspeed is really low, some of these details don't matter much. All we're trying to do is tune the cabinet with Helmholtz resonance, and to avoid port airspeed from becoming excessive at high woofer displacements.

Ok, Thanks,for clearing this up. some Mfgs. were claiming they got 3 DB gain extra by using this port over standard port. Stupid me it was just advertisement that was worded so that you thought that this was a big improvement over the conventional standard port.
