My first Pis, Theatre 4s, had the horn set back 3/4" from the woofer baffle; next I built 2Pis with a sloped baffle, then various pseudo 4Pis with 3677s and own boxes with the horn on top.

I just ordered Eminence H-290s and soon there will be a pair of textbook 4Pi Pros with everything inside the box. These days, you have to do whatever you can to lower the Cx of your speakers; lower drag means better mileage.

What compression drivers will you be using? Both are nice, but the DE250 is a bit smoother.

Got outside early and just finished cutting all the parts. I tellya, that Ryobi tablesaw on wheels is the bomb! How can it be so accurate after several years of bumping up and down stairs and with the sliding table to get from 19 to 32"? I check every setting and everyone is just what the scale says it should be. Amazing!

The A-C plywood I got from Lowes cut really well, too; I found no voids as I cut and the A side will be great for the NBL-backed veneer I'm going to use. About 1/2 the weight of MDF is also nice.

The B&C DE-250 is what I've got currently and it really is a better driver than any of the Altecs or JBLs I've tried in 1" format. Aside from the absolute faith I have in your designs, I finally went with indoor plumbing 'cause I've grown tired of room-dominating-sized speakers with wires and parts sticking out everywhere. After the XLHs, the quasi-Model 19s and the BatSpeakers these 18x26 boxes are gonna seem like bookshelf speakers.

I hear you, Bill. I've got a pair of sevens and a pair of fours. Both sound great, but the fours are easier to move and easier to place. No muss no fuss!

Someday I'll get a pair of 4's or 7's. When we finally get a house with my own room for listening. What do ya'll do when you have multiple sets of speakers. I've got the 2 Towers, Polk 5B's, ART Arrays (which I am digging immensely!!!), and some Heresy's.

I know what you mean. I've got a pair of one π's, two π's, two π towers, three π's four π's, seven π's and eight 12π's. I listen to all of them from time to time, but mostly the two π towers, four π's and seven π's. The 12π's aren't really for use at home, they're rentals. But I use all the others pretty regularly.

Well, I jsut need a few more amps is the fix! I've got the NAD Bee running the Polks, the Abraxas 12B4 running the 2 Towers, and an old Kenwood from 1978 running the Art Arrays and Heresy's. I'd have the Darling project done if I'd get off my duff and find some OPT's for it. That one will go on the 2 Towers as well because of it's good sensitivity and simple crossover. It really works well with the 12B4 at 0.9W. If I'm feeling froggy though, I'll tap the NAD into the Towers and bother the neighbors!!!
