I'm getting ready to put some DE250 compression drivers in my Stage 4's, (along with some 2226''s) and was wondering if anyone had already tried them. I see they are listed at 108.5 dB efficient, and was wondering if I would have to pad them down a little more than the PSD 2002's. I guess that difference could come from the way the msmt's are made, so I'll probably try them with the stock setup and then see how they sound. If anyone already knows the answer, I'd appreciate hearing it.
I owned a pair of (now discontinued) DE25's, with a mylar diaphragm that looked like half a golf ball. They were flat and crisp, even without EQ or processing. Smoothest 1" drivers I'd heard at the time, despite the use of a mediocre passive crossover. If you can afford the difference, you won't be disappointed!

I tried the DE250's and I liked them. I like the JBL 2426, DE250 and PSD2002 equally well. Each of them has about the same sensitivity. The PSD2002 is between 105dB and 110dB through its passband, much the same as the others. So I wouldn't change the padding when swapping drivers.
The B&C is 7.8Ohm / Eminence is 6.x Ohm. It gives more 0.5dB in aimspice. If there is a problem in the sound output (with it being to high) a 1.0 Ohm resistor in series (1+5.5 Ohm) would be fine (if there is the need). I am not sure the R1 resistor is 5.5 Ohm.
got the drivers now...will install them as soon as I get spare couple hours. Looking forward to seeing how they sound. I'm not unhappy at all with the PSD 2002's...just normal restlessness...

The DC resistance of the PSD2002-8 is around 6Ω but the actual impedance never drops below 8Ω through the passband. When mounted on the horn, it's about 10Ω below crossover, between 10Ω and 20Ω in the crossover region, falling to about 8Ω up to about 5kHz and rising steadily above that to around 15Ω at upper cutoff.
They are a little bit more expensivo too. But look at that top end, they must rock, and (they must have) a nice flat output. And (plus) there is this thing - one in ten is better ("runs faster"), and three in ten are lemons. Have fun.
