Thank you Wayne for the 2 Pi Tower design and kit.

The inaugural play was Yes "Close to the Edge"

We just listened to "E Power Biggs Plays Bach in the Thomaskirche"
Toccata and Fugue in D Minor BWV 565
Passacaglia and Fugue in C Minor BWV 582

What a glorious sound. My feeling, to misquote Ben Franklin is
Music is living proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.
(Beer is good too)

I think it's perfect that the first music through your speakers was Close to the Edge. Back in the seventies, Yes was my favorite band, and was the first thing I put through the first pair of one π's was Yes too.

Very nice. Plus, I always consider (about) them having a recessed podium underneath hiding some rubber feet. Makes them "float" in the air.

Craig can you describe the wood you used and the finish that you applied.

They look brilliant!

Thanks

Mark

Thanks for your kind comment. My wife wanted a flat black finish like the speakers these replaced. The wood is 3/4" oak veneer plywood from my local Home Depot. For a primer I used Zinsser B-I-N shellac base with black added to make it gray. Final coat was flat black Rust-Oleum Painters Touch Latex.
