Hi,

I noticed many of the designs here use these drivers and some of them indistinctly. Can you tell me what differences in sound are there between them? Do you think the difference justifies a price for the JBL which is 5 times? Under what circumstances would you use the PSD2002 instead of the 2426H?

Thanks

"It doesn't have the mid-range clarity of the JBL 2426, the air and extension of the Altec 902 or the detail of the BMS. But it also has none of their faults"

What are 2426's faults?

thanks

2426 has a lower high frequency roll-off compared to Altec 902.

2426 has a nicer upper midrange compared to the 902.

The others are basically a lower mix of both drivers with maybe a bit more distortion and less flat response.

I like the 902 drivers myself. If I used a 2426, I would add a tweeter and have the best of both.

Regards, Ron

To my ears, a sharper roll-off above 12kHz which makes it less 'airy' than others. With a super-tweeter like the 2405 the combination is better than most.
