Thanks for the interesting article. I recently loosely filled my Stage 4Pi's with polyfill, everything except the port. Doing so gives up some lower bass response and a few db of efficiency but to my ears give a smoother and clearer midrange. Because I intend to use a subwoofer anyway it seems like a good trade off.
