The horn used with the PSD2002 is an Eminence H290. I've also used the Peavey CH-3 with good results. The Peavey horn has a screw-on mount, so use the PSD2002S when using the Peavey horn.

Thanks Wayne... Can I ASSume you prefer the H290 over the JBL 2344 or the P.Audio 316 clone?

Not necessarily. The JBL 2344 is a different animal. I've used the JBL 2370 and liked it, but the price tag is higher than Eminence or Peavey horns. To tell the truth, I prefer the Peavey CH-3 over the JBL 2370, but it isn't as attractive aesthetically. The H290 won't go as low, but at the crossover point chosen, it works very well. In the end though, all the designs have been tested with the H290, and that's probably the most important part. If you use something else, you really have to measure it yourself and fine-tune the design for the horn you've chosen.

Wayne,

The 2344 horn is the one used by JBL in their 4430/4435 studio monitors.

It is the infamous "Butt-cheeks" horn. Very interesting, I had a pair of 4430 monitors and sold them, but just found a pair of 2344 horns and will look a creating a 4430 clone.

They have great dispersion, but don't sound like most other horns.

Just to offer some horn info here!

Regards, Ron

Yes, I'm familiar with JBL 2344 horns. They have a little wider dispersion pattern and a lot taller. They're nice but different enough from the H290 that a redesign would be in order.

100 x 100 degree.

And yes, they need different crossover circuitry than most horns.

I had sold my JBL 4430 studio monitors, but just recently bought a pair of 2344A's to play with.
