Hello,

I have given up my High end Magnepans for some old Bozaks I like the feel of real bass. I lovem and figure I would like to upgrade to some modern 12" or 15" woofer beasts, than can outdue the bozaks.

I have a few amps from a Fi 2a3, mint dynaco st70, Odessey mono amps (185 watts high current) and a Mc MC2205 (200watts), so I pretty much have a good choice to find the best amp to match. My room is 24 long 14 wide 10' high. I listen to clasic rock most of the time and Blues the rest sometimes some of that joss stone kind of music, .

I will be buiding the cabnets myself.

Can someone sudgest which kit is best for me? also cabinet plans, size is not a problem I dont want to be stuck with corner horns. Also do you think these will best the Bozaks...I have the Concerto 3001 its the 12" 199 woofer and a three 200 tweeter aray. in a 5' infinit baffle enclosure I wouldn want to wast my time. Unfortunatly I have never herd any of the Pi speakers on read about them

Thanks
Bob

For a simple and inexpensive speaker, I'd suggest the two π tower speaker. For the all-out best, I'd go with the Professional Series seven π. If you don't want to be set to corners, you can use the four π cabinet as the bass bin and run the midhorn and tweeter from the seven π on top. The Theater Series three π and four π loudspeakers are good mid-level models.

Hi

This sounds pretty intriguing. I am interested in building one of your kits to mate up with some Bottlehead gear, don't have the room for corner loading, but want the best speaker sound I can get for around $1k (building my own cabinets if fine). Could you please send the plans to me as well?

Thanks

And you! [message #50129 is a reply to message #50126] Wed, 04 October 2006 23:59 Go to previous message
