Hy Wayne .A a few posts do you said that the Beta 15 could work in a Theater four box .My election for the tweeter is the ASD 1001 I want to Xover in the region of 2k TO 2.5K .do you have a design for this x-over point .thanks in advance for your help .

Hey, I threw some beta15s into my theater 4 corner horns (tall, wide and thin 5 cuft box, tuned to 40hz) and they sounded really boomy (in corners and out). Boxplot says that the beta in a 5cuft/40hz box should only have a 4db bump at 80hz which should sound good and punchy. For some reason that's not what I heard?!? Go figure?? Give it a try and tell us what you hear. Regards,

The Theater four π (and seven π bass bin) is a little over 8ft3 and tuned to 25Hz. This cabinet, when used with a Delta 15, gives a response curve somewhere between overdamped and EBS. This is a nice curve for use in rooms with boundary reinforcement, such as against walls or in or near corners.When substituting the Beta 15 in the same cabinet, response does indeed shift towards being slightly less damped. It develops a slight hump in the midbass. That is a direction you don't want to go in a corner speaker, but I don't think it would sound bad in an open space, pulled away from walls a few feet. But if the cabinet is smaller than 8ft3 - certainly if it is only 5ft3 - the Beta 15 will be too underdamped and will sound boomy no matter where the speaker is placed.
