I received my 2118 today and dropped them into my One PI cabinets to test them out. Wow. These speakers are great! Less bass than the Alpha8, but the midrange is so clean. I bet a set of One PI with the 2118's and a subwoofer would make a terrific system. But that's not where I want to use them.

I'm looking at the rising response curve of these drivers and think they'd be a good candiate for horns. Can someone point me to resources that would explain the relationship between exit area, horn length, and mouth size to frequency range and sensitivity increase?

thanks,
gcl.

Sounds good, doesn't it? I always loved the JBL 2115; Best sounding 8" driver I ever heard. The shorting ring does it, good quality build too.

I've considered having Eminence make a 10" cast driver with a shorting ring tuned like Alpha 10's to make Audiophile series two π's and eight π's.

About horn info, have you ever used Hornresp?

Tonight, I have the One PI's with the 2118 active crossed at 250 and bi-amped with 2235's on the bottom. I might be up all night.

I'll take a look at Hornesp.

thanks Wayne.
