Have anyone tried using these wall shelving brackets for internal bracing of a speaker cabinet? They typically look like a hollowed out triangle. Seems a lot easier to use than cutting wooden cross braces. Would introducing metal components into the cabinet structure affect the speaker sound at all?

Should be just fine. If it's solid - You'll know it. Give it a rap with your knuckles or a light tap from a hammer. If the cabinet gives a hollow drub-like sound or the metal rings, then you still have some damping work to do. But if it sounds solid, like you hit the Earth, then you've got it licked.
