Hi there,

I have recently picked up a couple of the new JBL 1500AL bass drivers. I am looking to build them into dedicated bass cabs for use with a Tact digital setup, to crossover to the mains at 325hz.

The recommended tuning is 41.3hz, the Fs = 27.3hz. Would an enclosure tuned to 30hz work well, and if so, any ideas please. The intended use is purely music, but much of this is bass heavy electronic stuff. Ultimate level is less important than quality.

The TS parameters are:

Qts = 0.27
Qes = 0.28
Qms = 12.84
Fs = 27.3 hz
Vas = 264.55 l
Sd = 880 sq cm
Re = 5.4 ohms
Mms = 139.9g
Bl = 21.64 T*m
Spl = 94.7 dB.

Would anyone also have a contact number for the guys in technical at JBL?

Any help much apreciated!

A quick study shows it to be virtually identical to the 2226 in its cabinet tuning requirements. I'd recommend using a bass-reflex system of 2.5ft3 - 5ft3 with Helmholtz frequency of 40Hz.
