Since I'm lookin to (hopefully) not spend tooo much, i've got two choices here that are under 300 bux australian dollars each.

Eminence Delta 15 - $225 each
JBL 2225 basket + recone = 120 + 165 = $285 each

So thats only a 60 dollar difference really which isn't much. I think the JBL 2225 has a faraday ring for low distortion? The manual doesn't state.

I think that the JBL 2225 would be the way to go! But if its not much of an improvement over the Delta 15, then I wont bother with it and its recones. I do want low distortion, but also "impact".

The higher xmax of the JBL's make it louder too than the Delta from what I've quickly checked.

Wayne, which series Pi would you reccomend for the JBL 2225 motor?

Thanks!
Adrian

There were four π and seven π designs for the 2205, and you could certainly build speakers like that for the 2225. But the crossover point was much lower, at 500Hz, because the driver didn't perform as well in the midrange.
