Has anyone ever used the Eminence APT-50 in a 2way system? it goes down into the 2-3k range.. some of the eminence woofers go that high. I know the BETA CX series is made for these, but I don't like their funky responses compared to the non CX.

How would it sound compared to a PSD2002. The response looks more even..

how bout it?

I use APT80 with Beta12LTA (a la Thorsten Afterburner),
crossed at 10kHz with a single cap the sound is realy nice.

Otor,
What single cap(I'm guessing 6db/oct) value are you using??? I have my Apt-80 along with 2418/2373 horn and 2226 woofer in 3677 cabinet(JBL tent sale), I have 1.2 mh on woofer as Wayne does and I used 1.6khz/18db w 15ohm/15ohm attenuation for the 2418 on the 2373 horn(at least that's what info I have gathered says), I used .5ufd (2 1ufd's in series)cap on the apt-80 from the top of the parallel 15ohm resistor the 2418 uses. Not scientific info, just what I had on hand to use and experiment with. My apt-80 is a little subdued, only adds ambiance to music(to my personal preference). I tried same setup with 1ufd comp cap, had to remove comp cap when using apt-80. When I set up as 2-way with no super-tweeter(pair I made for my girlfriend) I used 1ufd for comp cap. 2-way is alreight, I like little touch of high frequency detail with super tweet. For anyone who tries to use 3677 cabinets for 2226 woofer, remove foam from the ports. The ports are already too small and the foam they used is very restrictive. I have 12' X 16' living room with 8' ceiling, so I am not much past 5 watts a channel most of the time. My room is worse problem than too small of port size. Regards, Ron
