I've just bought a pair of 12 inch bass bins from a friend, which are
sony cabinets and sony drivers with linen surround.

The strange thing is they sound alright, but there is no mention of wattage or serial no on the driver, just a date [1993]. Also the cones are actually the same as the JBL cones, and so is the magnet

Could it be possible that the previous owner reconed them for JBL parts,Also is there any way to find the wattage out,cos i don't want to blow them. It seems very strange that Sony have a 12 inch linen surround bass driver; When I thought Sony only made hi-fi loudspeakers, tvs, videos.
