Does anyone sell a TV kit these days? Heathkit used to, but I don't know if they still do.

That would be interesting but I've never heard of such a thing.

I've seen people DIY projection TV's with rather nice results. As far as I know, no one makes a kit.

Back when I was a kid, one of my friends' dad built a Heathkit TV. I think I saw it work once or twice.

I'm curious. Why do you want to build a TV?

It just seemed like it might be fun to build a TV.

That does sound like fun. Have you ever considered restoring older sets?

I've fixed a few TV sets but I haven't done it in a while. These days they're disposable. Some of the parts aren't even available. Now with DTV coming I will not buy one that isn't compatible.

There seems to be quite a following of the very early tube TVs. Most can be had for free. I've seen one or two restored, and they are works of art, inside and out.....C
