A $1700 starting bid for a JBL woofer? Sold for over $1800?

Unless this is the one Jim kept under his pillow i just don't get it at all.

I have heard that folks have more disposable income but that is way beyond my limited imagination

Just a few days ago, a pair of NOS Cunningham 2A3s went for around $900. The same seller was asking $1800 for a NOS pair of Western Electric engraved base 300Bs. I have a pair of almost new testing, engraved base, balloon envelope National Union 45s that I feel a sudden urge to part with in light of these recent vintage DHT sales on eBay...........

The driver listed in the e-ay auction is a rare bird, but not that rare!

Used in Hartsfield and some earlier 2 and 3 way systems.

I would be more excited about a pair of K/E 145's (JBL Everest)
