Excuse my total ignorance! I've just bought a Lenco 35, and the turntable will only turn when the volume knob is switched to zero (rather than -/+). Any ideas what the problem could be?

The unit is probably reverse wired. Has someone worked on it in the past?

Well, it's all set in a home-made wooden base, so I assume whoever owned it before worked on the whole thing. Excusing the ignorance again, what does 'reverse wired' mean, and could I easily make it normal again?

Wait a minute; excuse my ignorance, I read through your post so quickly that what you said escaped me. You claim that you turned the volume nob to zero? I assumed you said the start control to zero. What exactly does the volume nob control? Is this a console set? Thank you J.R.

Thanks for your replies, JR. I had a look at the wiring and discovered a loose one dangling by the volume control - so should just be a matter of attaching that - pristine condition otherwise and a beautiful machine.
