I'm guessing this is a midwoofer of some sort , if there's some data out there i'd like to take a peek too.
TIA
Jorge

NSB? It's fuel for the line array revolution. No Stinkin' Badges -NSB, refering to it's lack of any identification.

There a little pricey, but good drivers generally are.

Ahhh. Those were the ones i was thinking of mass-loading. 24 in a line with Fs pulled down to 80 or so , open baffle. I'm thinking of the little Dayton tweeters to go with them ,crossed at about 5khz or so.
Thoughts? Suggestions?

TIA
Jorge

Another way is to remove some (50%) of the spider. Not adding mass is better for speed and effency. I did this and the driver went lower. The power handeling is lower since the x max is reached sooner. But the driver sound breakes up before this happens. I have a 16/ side array. The only thing I did to the drivers I am using was remove the dust cap and add a plug.

Phase plug? Do tell ! I wanted to coat the cone to deaden the high freqency breakup.

Nothing fancy. Removing the dust cap does lower the high peak without a 1st order coil in the signal path. The plug makes the sound clearer. I was listening this way for a few months. I have a coil at 3.3khz now. Last week I removed the plugs and the sound was not as clear. They are back in now.

1) cut the cap off with a knife
2) cut dowels .75" dia x 3" long on a table saw
I thought that the length would let the wave stabelize before the collapse at the end of the dowel. You may be able to make them shorter with a cone taper like the Audex ones. A lathe would help.
3) remove the burrs
4) place 3 small balls of rope caulk on the end of the dowel and press in place
