Hello Bill,

I don't check out the Line array discussion often enough.

You had a *pic* someplace on here for a line array
hybrid. Is that going to be in an _audioXpress_
any time soon?

I noticed in a posted *pic* you were using those Pioneer
4 inchers. Those are now about half price at $.49 each
and I am thinking on splurging for about 8 of them.

But they will be just be clutter if I don't have a good use
for them.

Will the design be available from your website?

Thanks and I hope you are well.

The article is at the publisher, so it will be out within a few months, after which it will go on my site. I used 8 drivers per side at 4 ohms; if you want to stay at 8 ohms go either 9 or 16 drivers per box. I wouldn't go less than 8 drivers per box. It does need to crossover to tweeters at 6kHz, so stock up on some of those closeout Onkyos too, at a 1.5 to 1 ratio with the woofers. I'm using my arrays along with a Tuba 18 sub, crossed at 80 Hz; the Tuba 18 will actually appear before the line array does.

Do you use the 70 cent Onkyos or the 40 cent ones?

I got my 16 Pioneers so far, striking while the fire
is hot, so to speak. Shipping was more than the
merchandise.

Some specials they just run for a week, so I figured
I should get the order in today.

I used the ones with the coax mounting post; I chopped the posts off on a bandsaw. Get a dozen per box to match with 8 woofers per box.

These may turn into Winter projects for me.

So I didn't by any 'accessories' this trip in.

I'm wondering how these give-aways will sound for a test
in my PVC Boomtoobz.
