Could someone place a rubber gasket over the threads of a compression driver to alter the extent it goes into its horn throat ?
What would this do to the sound ?
Would it change it, and if so, which way ?
Of course, one could only move the driver "back" from its throat, and go too far, it falls out.
Ever try this ?
An old roadie says they used to do it ?

-Is when small dimensions are involved,like a few mm more spacing than normal- are HF muckups and reflections ruining the tiny[high frequency]waves !

Actual experience and changes in the sound character,perhaps some one can comment on.
