Aside from the 2235's I mentioned below, I also got a pair of JBL 2445 2" exit compressions and a pair of 2380 horns. I can't believe how much these things weigh!

Being eager to test them out, I connected them to the Alpha10's in my 2PI towers at 800Hz plus compensation network. They sound fantastic! My 2PI Towers started with the original piezo, moved to the Eminence APT80 crossed at 3500Hz, and then to the PSD2002 crossed at 1600Hz. Bar none, the 2445 are the best sounding of the bunch. But then, this driver and horn combo costs about 100-times more than the piezo.

As soon as I sort out the problems with one of the 2235, can't wait to start my project combining them with these horns.

GarMan,
With the 2-Pi towers and the APT 80 tweeter at 3.5khz(I bought 3rd order hi-pass from PE), what were the resistor/cap values you used??? That is the R1/R2/C values(or the attenuation factor and I can pick from Wayne's charts. I have the APT-80's also, just played around with them, nothing serious, but now want to try the 2-Pi combo with those drivers.
Thanks, Ron

Ron,

The APT 80 pretty much runs flat to 20KHz, so a compensation network's not required. You only need the two resistors as an LPad to reduce output by 10dB. 5.5 ohms in series with 3.3 ohms parallel works well.

Thanks for the info, I will have to give it a try. I will post my results in a few weeks, my plate is rather full at the moment.
