We've found some very nice baltic birch for making a set of Pi 2 towers. It has a very nice grain pattern and should make a quite beautiful set of speakers.

What sort of finishes do you suggest?

We've tossed around the idea of just varnishing them (is something better than varnish?).

Does the birch stain well or is it better left as it is? Light or dark?

All ideas welcome!!

Thanks!

You can stain it, veneer it or paint it. You might want to stain or paint some test blocks as samples to see what you come up with. Once you've found something you like, use it for your loudspeakers.

Thanks Wayne. We'll play with the scraps to see what looks nice and go from there.
