I just bought a Califone 1435 from someone on ebay. He claims it worked fine when he mailed it (I believe him, too, as he's tried to help me out quite a bit) but when I opened it up and tried to play a record, I couldn't stop it from playing too fast. Yes, I had it on the right speed. There is even a little arm on it that allows you to adjust speed slightly within 33rpm or 45rpm, but that did nothing. Still too fast. I tried taking off the top to check and make sure the belt was on correctly and it was. Does anyone have any advice? This is a great record player and I want to be able to use it!
