Hello , i've recently bought a the PS-LX250H turntable from Sony, and the playing of records is just fine except for one problem... When pressing the "start" button to auto-play a record, the arm lifts, slides to the record, puts the stylus down normally, but 2 secs later, it picks up the stylus, and gets back into the off position and the turntalbe stops. What could be wrong?

Thanks
B. Page

You need to open the table and look underneath. There are two arms and a pair of gears that move the arm. When the arm stops too soon it is most liklely that one of the gears is either mis-aligned or the rubber band that puts tension on the rotating gear arm is worn out.
You can play with it but it probably needs someone who does this.
