Here's a serious turntable:

Audio Note Turntable Three Reference

How much do they cost? Are kits available? If I have to ask these questions, am I not in the position to purchase one?

I think the cost of the cartridge is more than I can put into a turntable !

Oh yeah. I went and looked, this time paying better attention. price is right there, plain as day. It's pretty pricey, but Dave has some good sounding units that are not expensive at all, at least not for high-end tables. I'm still wondering if Audio Note makes a turntable kit too.

Hi Wayne!

Yeah, the new TT Three Ref costs about as much as my VW New Beetle. But the SOUND . .. . . . holy cow! There will be lesser incarnations of the three, which will still be pretty expensive. But then there are the TT One and Two, which are back down in the human range and sound extremely good. (A TT One retired my LP 12 . . .)

Sorry, none of them are available as kits. The Audio Note kit electronics are being brought back by a fellow in Canada, though, which I think is a very cool thing. He's just getting underway at audionotekits.com

Hi Dave,

I would imagine if it sounds like the rest of the AN line up, it's a great sounding piece. One of these days when I save up enough for a spare VW, I'm going to get a fancy shmancy TT for the fun of it if nothing else.

Bill

We've also got one for about what I paid for tires for my Beetle. Less shmancy, but very, very nice. . . .
