Mr. Moderatore; What about a P.C. Audio Forume? There might be some who find that informative. Such as me.

PC audio is where I started my adventure with speakerbuilding.

I was intrigued and still am by direct control of quality
speakers from the soundcard.

That said, I'm still connected to a receiver amp called the
Yamaha RP U100. The Yam has a USB connection which allows control of
the unit from the PC via onscreen software from Yamaha.

I use audio streaming extensively especially for news. I am
not in an area where the Pacifica Network of 300 media outlets
has a free air outlet for news broadcasts such as Democracy Now.

That's just voice, but I also like to listen to Nevada classical
public radio in Wisconsin.

With the Winamp media player and its extensive plugins and
skins, a set of good powered monitors should be able to connect
directly to the PC setup.

I think that a PC Sound forum would be well received, but the topics
are covered in these other forums especially gainclone and
single driver and high eef speaks.

Here is my favorite spin on PC speaks from the transmission
line forum:

Another thing you can do with a PC/soundcard setup is digital processing, crossover and delay. You could include micropone sampling too.

I think the DigitalAudio forum is appropriate for sound card discussions. Whether recording and playback, processing or whatever, it's still DIY digital audio. That's really what the DigitalAudio forum was created for.

Gotcha. It is just that I hardly see any PC stuff so.., naturally I assumed it meant something other than computor stuff. You should see me trying to understand some of these terms. Might as well be speaking in tongues.

Lon; are you saying the recievor takes the output from the soundcard and amplifies it just as it would a regular line level source? That sounds intiqueing.
I use Winamp exclusively but the learnig curve for me is wide and steep. I have a Pacifica outlet here from the university so I really never delved into the PC until I realised you could make music tapes from streaming audio.

I'll take Wayne's advice and respond in the digital audio forum.

Maybe we can get something going in there.

You mean the Seraphims or the Periscope? Hard to tell from a general post.
