I order a turntable via ebay, from a guy who said it was in VG+ working and cosmetic condition. He shipped it fairly poorly, and the heavy metal plate became loose hurting the needle, the wire connections between the catridge head and the arm connections. Things such as the weight fell off and I'm sure rolling around in the box didn't help. I don't know much about turntables and now I'm stuck with a non-working table. Who do I complain to? What should I ask? This is very frustrating.

Man, that sucks.

I'd contact the person that sold it to you and let them know. They probably will offer you condolences, and nothing more.

Make a claim with the shipping company, and hopefully shipping insurance will cover the cost of repair. Naturally, they will not honor a claim if the item wasn't packaged properly. So I'm not sure I'd complain to the shipper about the quality of your sender's packaging job.
