I really want to get a smart speaker because I love the idea of electronics doing all sorts of things just because I ask them to. Looking at the prices of some of these though, it seems like they'd be more expensive if they had high-quality speakers. Maybe I'm just being a pessimist . . . and I hope I am! Do any of you own one? If so, what kind and what do you think of the sound quality? Is it possible to hook these up to additional speakers?

Is an Amazon Echo and Amazon Dot considered a smart speaker? If so, I think they work great. The sound is good and Alexa understands the jumbled jibbersh of my child quite well.
