I read somewhere that one way of boosting the sound output is by getting rid of the bellwire speaker cables that come in the box. What's the reasoning behind this?

I use 13 amp mains cable for my speaker leads and speaker internal wiring. Its low resistance so you don't have much losses in the cables.

I like using large gauge stranded speaker wire too, and for the same reason.

Hi, i use 12 gauge stranded copper wire for my systems. Low loss is the reason. Boutique wire is not necessary.

Good Listening

Wow, I've never imagined that low resistance could be an issue. Is it the case that all the wires that come with these systems are standardized? If that's it, then I'm replacing the ones I have ASAP.

Good information. I would have ever thought of the low resistance being an issue with the box cables either. I'll be upgrading all my cables soon anyway!

Thanks for this little tidbit of great information. I am trying to upgrade the sound a bit and I was thinking that my cables were the culprit of my "not so great" sound. I'll try new cables.

I have often thought that the cables that they include in the box with the system might not be the best on the block but I would never have guessed that it was ruining my sound. Lesson learned.
